The event is over.

Our guest of honor this year will be Germany ! The tradition of nativity scenes has been rooted in German culture since the XNUMXth century ...

Since the launch of the project in 2006 at the initiative of our Reception Service, the crèches have never ceased to surprise our pastoral team, responsible for setting them up. Astonishment to discover the variety of shapes, colors and materials used. This exhibition is completely renewed every year. It is installed at Saint John Paul II Center in front of the Basilica.

The exhibition, unique in its scope, constitutes one of the largest collections of nativity scenes from countries on all continents. Each year, the event attracts families, school groups, retirees and pilgrims who choose this cultural journey offered to them by the Nativity scenes on display. Thanks to this showcase of the world, the visitor goes to meet the other through his cultural identity having the impression of discovering the customs of a continent, a country, a region, a land. His astonishment is great at the variety of shapes, colors and materials used by artists and craftsmen.

The cribs, whether loaned by collectors or offered to the Sanctuary, come from over sixty countries.

More than 361 nativity scenes for 70 countries have been presented at previous exhibitions!
