On Saturday, May 17, 2025, we celebrate the centenary of the canonization of Saint Therese. Join us in Lisieux for a weekend full of festivities! The highlights of the weekend will be broadcast live on our social networks.
Program
Friday May 16
- 20:30 p.m.: The weekend begins with a grand procession of the relics of Saint Teresa of Carmel to the Basilica, passing through the cathedral. Meet in front of the Carmelite convent.
- 21:30 p.m.: Singing vigil at the Basilica, rose sales for Thérèse
Saturday May 17
- 10:00 a.m.: Gathering on the esplanade of the Basilica to venerate the reliquary, with reading of texts, songs and carillon concert.
- 11:00 a.m.: Mass for the centenary of the canonization of Saint Therese (broadcast live on YouTube and Facebook)
During the afternoon :
The reliquary will be in the crypt of the Basilica.

- From 09:30 a.m.: Broadcast from Rome on the screens of the Basilica of the inaugural mass of the pontificate of Pope Leo XIV (10 a.m.)
- 11:00 a.m.: Mass at the Basilica with the parish of Sainte-Thérèse in Pays d'Auge (broadcast live on YouTube).
- 14:00 p.m.-17:00 p.m.: Collaborative animation of a giant fresco in building bricks reproducing the facade of the Basilica and the portrait of Saint Theresa with Normand'Bricks (in the cloister of the Basilica)
- 14:30 p.m.: Guided hike through the eyes of Thérèse (FREE OF CHARGE, registration required at 0231485500 or contact@therese-de-lisieux.com )
- 14:30 p.m.: Screening of “Secrets of History” on Saint Therese in the Basilica’s conference room (duration 1 hour 53 minutes)
- 14:00 p.m. - 17:00 p.m.: Visit of the dome
- 15:00 p.m.: Jubilee procession in the Basilica
- 16:00 p.m.: Conference by Father Emmanuel Schwab, Rector of the Sanctuary, on “Saint Therese and her little path to holiness” (in the Basilica). Streamed live on YouTube.
- 16:30 p.m.: Mass at the crypt will continue
- 17:30 p.m.: In front of the Carmel, evocation of the miracles of Saint Therese around the reliquary.
- 18:00 p.m.: Vespers with the Carmelites in the Carmel chapel
