This year, the opening of the holidays will be marked by the Mission 2024 Congress of the diocese of Bayeux-Lisieux on Saturday September 28.
The 2024 Teresian Congress in Lisieux will offer from October 2 to 4 a series of exciting conferences, all free to access, under the direction of Father François-Marie Lethel, to discover or deepen the spirituality of Saint Thérèse, Doctor of the Church, through his life and writings.
It was the day after the Liberation, at the end of September 1944, that to welcome the return to “normal” life, the Teresian festivals were established, which today continue to be an unmissable event every year for pilgrims from whole world. Join us in Lisieux for 9 days of celebration!

Mission 2024 Congress
The Teresian celebrations will begin with the Mission Congress organized by the teams of the diocese of Bayeux-Lisieux on the occasion of the sending of new parishes on mission. A diocesan celebration to experience in Lisieux with entertainment for everyone.

Procession of relics
Torchlight procession from Carmel to the Basilica with the reliquary of Saint Thérèse, in the presence of Mgr Pierre d'Ornellas, Archbishop of Rennes, followed by a preached prayer vigil.
Sunday, September 29
- 9:45 a.m.: Conference by Mgr d'Ornellas at the Basilica: “2024, year of prayer: Saint Therese, doctor of prayer”.
- Solemn Mass at 11 a.m. at the Basilica presided over by Mgr Pierre d’Ornellas.
- at 15:30 p.m.: procession from the Basilica to the cathedral for vespers then return of the relics to the Basilica for the week.

Monday September 30 at 19 p.m.: Vigil and praise in the Basilica to remember the death in Carmel of Sister Thérèse at 19:20 p.m. Last words.

Organized each year at the heart of Teresian week under the direction of Father François-Marie Lethel ocd, the conference will offer an integral approach to the life of Saint Thérèse through 18 conferences of 30 minutes each, all free to access, in the most broad perspectives of reflection, evangelization and dialogue of cultures.

Pilgrimage of the Carmelite Family
Since 2012, the weekend which closes the week of Teresian Festivals organized by the Sanctuary of Lisieux, the Discalced Carmelites of the Province of Paris have organized a pilgrimage in honor of Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus, their patroness, to bring together the entire Carmelite family: brothers, nuns represented by the Carmel of Lisieux, lay people of the Secular Order, sisters of apostolic congregations, friends of Thérèse. This year, it will be held on Saturday October 5 and Sunday October 6 on the theme of prayer.

“Rose petal” days led by the Beatitudes
Like every year, the Community of the Beatitudes organizes a day at the Basilica of Lisieux dedicated to the intercession of Saint Thérèse, on Saturdays October 12 and 26, 2024. Teaching, mass and vigil of intercession in front of the reliquary of Saint Thérèse in the Basilica .
