Du 26 Jul 2026 to 01 August 2026
Taking up the Theresian theme of Jesus sleeping in the boat of the apostles (LT 74 et LT 144 (From Saint Thérèse to her sisters), the Shrine of Lisieux offers you a spiritual retreat in the heart of summer to welcome the silences of God into your life.
Under the guidance of Fathers Loys de Saint Chamas and Rémy Houette, chaplains of the sanctuary, come and experience a week of summer retreat and relaxation with Thérèse.
Accommodation of Sunday evening, July 26th, until Saturday morning, August 1st.
From a very young age, Thérèse began to pray, imitating her parents and sisters. In her room, she had thoughts about God. The sight of nature moved her deeply. She played the solitary woman. In many circumstances, she found God. But sometimes Jesus seemed to hide: silence, dryness,
“Jesus does not incur any expense for her.” Yet often, as she would write: “Jesus makes her understand”… Even in her inner experience of thick darkness, she finds the path that Jesus opens for her, the loving presence of her Beloved.
During this summer retreat, we will become disciples of Saint Thérèse, including in places in the Normandy countryside that she marked with her presence…

In a general atmosphere of silence, we will have daily Mass, times of prayer, and the Liturgy of the Hours, enriched by two discussions each day. Afternoon walks will provide opportunities for conversation.
