Located in the diocese of Bayeux and Lisieux, the Sanctuary of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux attracts nearly a million pilgrims a year from all over the world. It ensures the influence and dissemination of the Thérèse message both in France and internationally.
In order to participate in the development and implementation of its pastoral offer, the Sanctuary of Lisieux (religious organization) is looking for an event project manager (M/F) on a full-time permanent contract.

In conjunction with the Rector, you will be attached to the Director of Communication, Pastoral Experience and Development.
This department is organized into 3 divisions:
- External communication: brand image, print and digital, media relations
- Pastoral experience: welcoming pilgrims, accompanying groups, guided tours, content creation
- Development: fundraising, sponsorship, donations
As part of its evolution, the Sanctuary wants to strengthen its mission of innovation and animation of its annual events (spiritual weekends and retreats, feasts of Saint Thérèse, centenaries, concerts, colloquiums, exhibitions, immersive experiences,…).
Event coordination is therefore a job creation which is part of an ambitious development strategy with several priority projects:
- Based on the initial guidelines established by the Sanctuary's Pastoral Council, the short-term plan for events for the 2027 pastoral year (launched at Pentecost) will be developed, dedicated to the theme of "Saint Thérèse, Patron Saint of Missions and Missionaries," on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux.e anniversary of his declaration to this patronage.
- Preparing for the centenary of the laying of the first stone of the Basilica (2029), a key structuring event for the coming years.
- To make the Thérèse festivals an unmissable event for the Sanctuary and the entire Thérèse network.
- Supporting the development of pastoral care services dedicated to young people and families, and experiences of transformative entertainment by leveraging the latest market innovations.
The purpose of your role
To enable every pilgrim who comes to Lisieux to have a transformative pastoral experience.
To achieve this, you will develop the Sanctuary's event proposals from start to finish. You will manage their implementation, working closely with the pastoral team and the various services involved, whose coordination you will facilitate.
You ensure the transmission of project-related information to the communications department to promote the event, and to the booking department to facilitate its "marketing".
Your main missions
1/ Participate in pastoral councils and working groups responsible for programming pastoral and event activities
- You are providing support in the development of an annual thematic program led by the Pastoral Council of the Sanctuary.
- You are a driving force in the feasibility study of events and in providing inspiring experiences.
2/ Build the operational structure and manage the logistics
Once programmed, you are responsible for the operational construction of the events:
- Pre-production: preparation and presentation meetings, drafting of specifications, development of reverse schedules and coordination with pastoral teams (guides, chaplains, volunteers), search for service providers, monitoring of quotes
- Promotion: Transmission of content to the communication and booking departments which handle marketing and sales as early as possible in the event.
- Operation: Supervision of equipment, liaison with the sanctuary's technical teams, active and proactive presence to ensure the smooth running of the event.
You are particularly responsible for managing major events (Thérèse festivals): being present on the ground, you ensure that every aspect runs as planned.
3/ Ensure administrative and budgetary monitoring
You produce reports, dashboards and financial monitoring, in conjunction with the relevant departments.
4/ Coordinate the different stakeholders in the project
- You coordinate the means and resources to ensure the success of the project.
- You support event organizers, particularly for spiritual activities led by chaplains: you ensure organizational feasibility with them. You play a facilitating role.
- You contribute to ensuring the appropriate involvement of volunteers during events.
Profile / Skills
Bac +2/+3 level (or more) in event communication or project management.
Committed volunteer experience (chaplaincy, scouting, diocesan pastoral work) is a real plus.

- Some events require a weekend presence (Feast of Saint Thérèse, etc.)
