On the occasion of the 2024 Teresian celebrations on the theme of the mission, Father Emmanuel Schwab, rector of the Sanctuary, spoke to Gloria magazine in an interview on the meaning of the mission and how to be a missionary following Saint Therese, patron saint of the missions.
On December 14, 1927, Pius XI declared Saint Therese of the Child Jesus "Patron saint, in a special capacity, of all missionaries, men and women, and also of the Missions existing throughout the universe. She thus becomes their principal Patron saint, equal to Saint Francis Xavier." Father Emmanuel Schwab, rector of the sanctuary of Lisieux, answered our questions.
